This Privacy Policy explains how Crossfade Raga (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our website and browser-based practice tools. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what’s needed to operate the site and the features you use.
- Account information. When you sign in, we receive your email address (magic-link sign-in) or the profile details your chosen provider shares (for Google and Facebook sign-in: name, email, profile picture, and provider ID).
- Feedback you submit. If you leave a rating or comment on Riyaz, Ear Training, or Virtual Instruments, we store the rating, comment text, and the feature it relates to, tied to your account.
- Usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics, which records page views and aggregated performance data without identifying you personally. It does not use cookies or cross-session tracking.
- Technical data. Our hosting and auth providers record standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and debugging. These logs are retained for a short period.
We do not collect audio from your microphone. Features like the Riyaz pitch meter process audio entirely in your browser and never transmit it.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and maintain your account and sign-in flow.
- To read and respond to feedback you submit so we can improve the site.
- To monitor site performance, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations when applicable.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers:
- Supabase — authentication and database. Stores your email, sign-in sessions, and feedback records.
- Vercel — hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Google and Facebook — only when you choose to sign in with those providers. They receive the fact that you used their sign-in on our site.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy. We configure them to collect the minimum necessary to operate.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage for two purposes:
- Session cookies to keep you signed in across page loads. These are set by Supabase Auth and are required for sign-in to work.
- Local storage for your theme preference (light or dark). No personal data is stored this way.
We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your feedback records tied to it are deleted automatically. Short-lived server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR or the CCPA to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below — we respond within a reasonable timeframe.
7. Children's privacy
The site is intended for users aged 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our providers may store or process data in countries other than your own. Where required, those providers rely on standard contractual clauses or other legal mechanisms to protect your data in transit.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
